I have had trouble sleeping for about 10 years now. I’ve tried over-the-counter and prescription sleeping pills, not realizing their potential side effects and dangers in an effort to get a good night’s sleep.

Hyland’s Calms Forte is a homeopathic product that has been on the market for over 50 years. I like Calms Forte because it contains all natural ingredients and is even safe for children.
Hyland’s Calms Forte Sleep Aid tablets doesn’t interact with any medications. What’s important to me is it doesn’t contain any type of sedative, so I don’t have a “hungover” feeling in the mornings.
Calms Forte just works great and leaves me feeling refreshed and, frankly, somebody my husband can live with the next morning.
But perhaps the greatest benefit to using Calms Forte is that it is not habit forming and it doesn’t lose its effectiveness over time. I’ve never experienced that when I’ve taken Calms Forte.
Hyland’s Calms Forte Sleep Aid tablets are a homeopathic remedy, which means it uses botanicals and minerals to help the body heal itself. So instead of taking it right before bed like you would other sleep aids, you take these three times a day to keep them in your system.
Calm’s Forte doesn’t make you feel sleepy during the day, which is a must when I’m considering whether natural sleeping aids that work are worth it or not. When it’s time to sleep at night, you’re sleepy and ready to go to bed and sleep through the night.

Bach Flower Rescue Sleep Remedy
I recommend Bach Flower Rescue Sleep products as some of the best natural sleep aids that work for me. One, it definitely does make me relaxed and sleepy, but, two, it also calms my mind. Bach Flower Remedies doesn’t leave me with a groggy feeling the next morning either.
Have you ever laid in bed and not been able to shut your brain off and sleep? That’s my main problem. Bach Rescue Remedy for Sleep usually stops me thinking about everything I need/should be doing so I can sleep.
I’ve tried several different Bach Flower Remedies to sleep, and so far they’ve all worked really well. I’ve used the Bach Rescue Sleep melts, which are like tiny round gel-filled pearls. I put one or two under my tongue, and they dissolve almost instantly and they don’t really have any taste that I can tell.
I’ve also used the Bach Rescue Sleep spray. To be honest, I like it much better than the melts. It just seems like it makes me sleepier faster. It does have a strong alcohol-y herbal-ly taste that’s not the best in the world, but it’s worth it because of the way it relaxes me and shuts my brain off.
Sometimes I can’t sleep because I’m just worried or stressed out. When that’s the case, I use Bach Rescue Pastilles. I often take it with the sleep spray if I’m really having trouble getting to sleep. The pastilles come in several flavors, but I prefer the lemon.
Chinese Herbs for Sleep: Pacific Herbs iSleep Herb Pack
iSleep Herb Pack is a blend of concentrated Chinese herbal extracts that help regulate your sleep patterns so you fall asleep and stay asleep.
This actually brews into a cup of tea, and it’s one of the better herbal teas that work for sleep. It has a typical herb tea flavor with a touch of licorice. I do wake up without feeling groggy the next day, so that’s a plus in my book.

Using Magnesium for Sleep Problems
Does magnesium help you sleep? I was shocked to find out a few years ago that a lack of magnesium in your body can actually cause insomnia.
Poking around on the internet, I found out that I had three of the symptoms of a magnesium deficiency can be insomnia, headaches, and feeling tired all the time. I’ve always been one to try to heal myself naturally, so I figured what the heck, I might as well try it.
I really wasn’t expecting it to work, so I was shocked. I took it a half hour before I went to bed, I started feeling sleepy and slept through the night.
I used it for a few weeks, and then quit to see if I still needed it. My sleep pattern stayed great for a long time. So now when I get to a point where I don’t get sleepy and nothing else works, I start taking about 400 mg -500 mg about a half hour before I go to bed.
So can magnesium help you sleep? Well, all I can say is it one of the best natural sleeping aids that work for me. It definitely helps me when nothing else doesn’t anymore. If you think it could help you out, it’s something you should look into and discuss with your doctor.
Alteril All Natural Sleeping Aid
Alteril is actually what I’m using right now to help me sleep on nights I’m having trouble. It’s one of the best natural sleeping aids that work for me, aside from the magnesium.
Alteril makes me feel like I’ve had a normal night’s sleep. I wake up with no ugh feeling in the morning.
I think what makes this the best natural sleeping aids that work for adults are the blend of ingredients it uses. It has GABA, tryptophan (that lovely amino acid found in turkey that makes you so sleepy after Thanksgiving dinner!), valerian root, melatonin, and chamomile. All of them put together really makes you sleepy.
I take two of these gel capsules about a half hour before I go to bed.
Granted, there are times that they don’t work for me. When that happens, I usually take magnesium for a week or so and that helps me get back on track.
