When I first started having trouble with insomnia about 10 years ago, one of the first home remedy I tried were teas that help sleep.

Try Yogi Kava Tea for Sleep and Relaxation
If you have trouble winding down and relaxing in the evenings, Yogi kava tea is one of the best herbal teas for sleep you should try. I know it says stress relief, but it releases tension and makes me relaxed, which helps me get to sleep.
When I’ve had a stressful day at work and I can’t seem to relax, this is my go-to herbal tea. Usually on nights like this my mind is whirring a thousand miles a minute and my body is tense. Drinking this tea about an hour before bed calms my mind and relaxes my body, which makes it easier to fall asleep.
This tea is one of my favorites in the taste department. It has a slight licorice flavor with spicy undertones. It’s one of the few teas that I find I don’t need any sweetener because it has a full, sweet flavor.

Sometimes when you’ve had a bad day at work, you bring it home with you. Stress is a major contributing factor to chronic insomnia. Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is an herb that can beat that stress, plus it’s safe to use every night.
It has a distinct flavor, but not in a bad way. I’m not one for an overly herb-y tasting tea, and, to me, Tulsi Sleep has a good flavor. Every once in a while I work nights, and I have a hard time unwinding in time to get a decent amount of sleep. Drinking Tulsi helps me unwind and de-stress.
Tulsi Sleep tea contains cardamom and chamomile, which I explained earlier helps sleep. But Tulsi Tea is also blended with these herbs that really pushes it over the top to make it one of the best herbal teas for sleep.

- Shankpushpi: A natural tranquilizer that reduces anxiety as well.

My new favorite herbal tea for sleep is rooibos. I’ve drank it for years but never knew it had such awesome sleep promoting powers. Rooibos tea is a good source of magnesium (you can’t sleep properly without magnesium – seriously!) calcium, potassium, and a whole host of other sleep goodies.
So why am I so in love with rooibos with a dash of honey? Take a look:

If you’ve never tried herbal teas to help you sleep, a blend definitely takes the guesswork out of which herbs are best for insomnia.
But if you want to use a specific herb for sleep, or even make your own blend, it can be confusing to know which ones to use.
Try them on their own, or make your own blend. But always remember to check with your doctor if you’re taking medication. Some herbs do interact with certain medications.
