*I received a 5 night supply of Snorelax free with no expectation of anything in exchange. All opinions I’ve expressed here are my own.
When I first got married a few years ago, I had this cute little scenario in my head. We’d go to bed every night curled up in each other’s arms. The heavens would part, angels would sing. Married life was going to be awesome!
I was quickly jolted to reality because my husband, God love him, snores like a fog horn.
My husband refused to wear any kind of mouthpiece or snoring device, and I really can’t say I blame him. Most anti-snoring devices look like a torture device.

So instead I came up with creative hacks to sleep through snoring. And they work, too, just sometimes I really would like the option of sleeping without snore-proof earplugs or wearing my sleeping headphones.
I had begun to think I was going to always have to be the proactive one when it came to sleeping with a snorer. I just didn’t think it was possible to lessen or stop snoring without wearing a mouthpiece, chin strap or nasal plugs.
*Snoring can be a symptom of a more serious condition, like sleep apnea. Be sure to see your physician before treating snoring yourself.
My Husband Actually Wanted to Try Something to Help His Snoring
A few weeks ago, a company named Snorelax contacted me asking me to try out their new snoring prevention product. I was intrigued because it’s not like any anti-snoring solution I’ve ever heard of.
It’s not nasal plugs, and it’s not a chin strap. It’s not a mouthpiece either.
They explained that Snorelax Lifts support the jaw and keeps your airway open, but they’re so comfortable most people don’t even realize they’re wearing them.
I was sold, but I knew the hard part would be convincing my husband to even consider giving them a try. So I explained what they were and how they worked totally expecting him to shoot me down. OMG, he said yes. What, no begging? No bribing?
These Snorelax things had to be something special for him to not put up a fuss and I couldn’t wait to see how they worked.
How Do Snorelax Lifts Work, and Why are they so Dang Comfortable?
Theoretically, Snorelax Lifts support the jaw to keep your mouth from hanging loose and it keeps the airway open. My husband is a bad mouth snorer, so that’s why I thought these might prevent him from snoring in the first place.
I think the reason why my husband agreed to try these out is because Snorelax Lifts isn’t an intrusive device you wear in your mouth or nose. They’re fabric strips, kind of a band aid concept, that goes from your cheekbone to under your jaw.
You can see how it sticks to the outside of your face. My husband was all for trying these out, but his only concern was whether or not it would pull skin or hair when he took it off like a bandage or medical tape would.
Well, we kind of got to find that out right off the bat. I kind of put one side in the wrong spot on the first night (oops!) and had to peel it off. When I took it off it didn’t even pull his skin. It was still sticky, too, so it didn’t go to waste.
Once he had both sides on, my husband was still able to talk and even eat with no problem. At that point, we were like no way these things are going to keep his mouth shut and help with snoring when he went to bed.
To say my husband was impressed these things were flexible enough to let him talk, but firm enough to hold his mouth closed once he laid down is an understatement.
Comfortable? Check. Not a torture device? Check. Now came the moment of truth – would they help stop snoring?
But Do These Things Actually Help Stop Snoring?
I’m going to be straight up honest here, that first night they didn’t stop his snoring completely. He still snored, but he was a lot quieter than normal. I would say that on a scale of fog horn to quiet, he was somewhere around box fan.
The representative from Snorelax told me it can take several nights to ease snoring. After I got the fit right, my husband said he didn’t even notice he was wearing them that first night and didn’t mind giving them another try.
Each night his snoring level became less and less. The amazing thing is my husband actually started wanting to wear them because they made him sleep better and he felt so much better in the mornings.
By the end of five nights, his snoring was down to a low purr, which is something I can live with. I never thought it was possible to stop snoring without a mouthpiece or some other snoring device, and the fact that his snoring all but stopped with just two strips on each jaw is amazing to me.

My Husband Did Stop Snoring without a Mouthpiece
I love my husband, but I always felt like I had to suit up like I was going into battle to be able to sleep in the same bed with him. Because snoring devices are anything but comfortable, I didn’t think an anti-snoring product was something my husband would be willing to wear.
Snorelax Lifts have really worked for us because they’ve helped us be able to sleep together in the same bed without me wearing earplugs or going to the guest room. The fact that he feels so much better and well rested in the mornings is an unexpected bonus.
Will Snorelax Lifts help you or your partner stop snoring? If you snore with your mouth open when you’re on your back or side, I think it’s a good possibility they could help reduce snoring or eliminate it completely. At the very least I’d say they’re worth trying out, especially if you’re looking for a comfortable solution for snoring.
